Donate to the APOPO HeroRATs and own a
Christopher Schwarz stick chair...

Last year during his Australian Tour, Christopher Schwarz assisted by Bern Chandley made two stick chairs. I asked Chris what he wanted to do with the chairs... "I don't know" he said, "they're your chairs, why don't you sell them?". Good idea...

WOOD DUST are offering for sale these two chairs made by Christopher Schwarz. The asking price is AUD $2000 each, excluding freight to your location.

100% of the monies raised will be donated directly to the APOPO HeroRATs via their Australian parter the Global Development Group (GDG), read more about the HeroRATs, and the GDG below.

The chairs are exactly how Chris completed them, a raw bare-wood finish. The Melbourne chair seat underside is signed by Chris and all the workshop participants, the Newrybar chair is signed by Chris and Bern Chandley. These are truly a unique and functional collectable that will last a lifetime.

To purchase an original Chris Schwarz stick chair and to help the Cambodian people secure a safe future, simply contact me, John Madden at hello@wooddustaustralia.com.au or click the link below to make your enquiry. Thank you for your support.

Sincerely,

John Madden

About the APOPO HeroRATs

The Situation

Cambodia is one of the most landmine-affected countries in the world. The impact of these insidious weapons is long lasting and devastating. Landmines keep people poor, standing in the way of socio-economic development. Removing landmines is essential for the future of the Cambodian people. The good news is that you can help by supporting the APOPO HeroRATs.

The HeroRATs

Too light to detonate mines, APOPO HeroRATs are trained to scratch at the ground when they locate explosives. Mine detection rats can search an area the size of a tennis court in 30 minutes, an area that would take a human deminer up to four days. By supporting landmine clearing teams, the HeroRATs can significantly speed up the process of eliminating landmines from Cambodia.

How it works

All you need to do is donate to the APOPO HeroRATs via their Australian partner the Global Development Group (GDG). Because GDG is a Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) registered organisation, every donation over AU $2 is fully tax deductible. And every dollar you donate will help rid Cambodia of landmines.

Make a difference in

the future of Cambodia

A message from WOOD DUST founder John Madden

Hello,

I was fortunate enough to visit Cambodia last this year. Cambodians are a friendly, generous people who have suffered beyond imagination thanks to colonisation, war and genocide. Yet they still welcome all to their beautiful homeland.

During my trip I was able to see first-hand the effects of landmines on the people, and the efforts being made to rid their country of these awful devices. Yet unlike many complex global problems, the problem of landmine contamination is one that can be addressed and resolved. To achieve this, we all need to take responsibility for past actions and work towards creating a safe environment for the Cambodian people.

To assist the Cambodian people, WOOD DUST are donating the sale price of the two signed chairs Chris Schwarz made last year on his Australia tour. In addition you can donate directly to the APOPO HeroRATs today and know you played your part in assuring the future of Cambodia.

Thank you for your support.
