Question. If you have a piece of wood that you want to square one end of perfectly. And if you don’t own a drop saw, table saw, fancy hand saw guide or a disk sander, how do you do this task easily and repeatedly? Best answer, use a hand plane and shooting board.
 
If you want to start using a shooting board in your woodworking, now is your chance. During this event, the team will start by discussing and demonstrating the use of hand planes including a Block Plane, Jack Plane and the Jointer Plane. Then we will move onto shooting boards and how they can be usd to plane along and across the grain. And because this is a hands-on event, you will also get to have a go on the tools. 
 
But that is not all. During the event the team will demonstrate how to build a shooting board right there live in the Wood Play Studio. And if you want to build your very own shooting board, kits with all the instructions and material components you need will be available for sale. Saving you from having to buy whole sheets of ply and cutting them down to size.
